Artist's Comments

This is an idea for a book I am currently working on. I really liked the notion of a Satyr rogue locked in mortal combat with a Minotaur warrior. Then of course the obligatory groan inspiring name. This is the piece that got the attention of Whitewolf and Blizzard.

Locked Horns by ~Satyrikal is a colorful, tension-filled illustration from a brand-new deviant that deserves some more lovin'! (Suggested by ~baby221 and Featured by `silentkitty)

I love the concept of a deadlock too. [link]
Excellent work on the glowing daggers. Did you color this in photoshop?

By the by, welcome to DA! =)

I used Photoshop Elements for this one. It's very much like a blend between Photoshop and Illustrator cept a lot more simplistic for when I just want to create a quick effect. Most of the other pics I used Photoshop or Illustrator for. And I use Photoshop alot in the work I do for WhiteWolf and Blizzard.

I should check out Elements. Mostly I just ink in illustrator and paint in photoshop. What's usually the resolution of your paintings?
:iconsatyrikal:
I scan every thing in at 300dpi, and resize it later it the file size proves to be too big. The bulk of my art gets sent through e-mail so 300dpi seems to work really good for quality but also leeway to shrink it down if need be. Yeah, elements is really nice, it came with my scanner lol, I was suprised but it definitely doesn't have all the bells and whistles other programs do.

ZOMG NERF ROGUES!

I really do love this piece. I've been checking back on it every day or so trying to think of something more constructive to say, but all the elements are there -- the sense of motion, the tension, the thrill, the attention to detail that ties it all together. It's wonderful.
